text: I will never foget the day that my 76 year old mother and I walked down the 588 steps that make the Karavolades Stairs from the town of Fira on the Greek Island of Santorini to the port of Gialos. The town of Fira is 1312 feet above the old port. We did it because we thought that we were going to miss our ship. She handled those stept like a chanp. Better than me! It seems like a fantastical thing we did and we often joke about it now but it was no joke then! Whew! I love that my mom and I are such good friends and can laugh together!
