PRETTY SWEET - One of my favorite memories is of my Uncle Dave and Aunt Ann (far left) loading us up with grapefruit that they grew in their yard and of my Mom and Dad (far right) carrying in boxes of oranges, fresh from the orchard, to squeeze for our breakfast. Mom, Dad, and Uncle Dave grew up in Kansas and didn’t have the luxury of citrus, very often when they were young. But thanks to them, I, and later, my children, grew up loving and enjoying these delicious fruits in abundance. When we lived in Mesa Arizona, we too, planted and grew our own grapefruit and orange trees in our yard. Those trees had the sweetest fruit ever and we really missed the fruit when we sold the house and moved.
