Smokey crossed over on March 8, 2023. He came to live with us in May 2019, after his mom, who raised him from a kitten, passed away. I hope that she was waiting on the other side of the rainbow bridge. He grieved quite a while for her after we got him. But, he loved to lay in the sun on the screened porch and got pretty annoyed when his porch was too cold to be out there. Mostly, he loved to snuggle up where I was, laying his head on my leg, and holding on to it with his leg, and he particularly loved it when I still had my warm pj’s on. Sometimes, he would almost snuggle with his sister, MaBelle, and was always good friends with the dog, Bella. MaBelle has been pretty clingy since then, and yesterday, I explained that Smokey got sick and we couldn’t fix him, so he went to live where Yoda and Minnie live now, and asked her if she remembered Yoda and Minnie. She hasn’t been as clingy today. Gonna miss my grumpy old man.
