Wombats are short legged, muscular, mainly nocturnal marsupials native to Australia. They are burrowing animals and because of their burrowing habit,they have developed backward facing pouches to prevent contamination by soil.They can grow up to 1 metre in length and weigh up to 30 kg and can run up to 40kph if threatened.
