Emus are large flightless birds native to Australia, they can reach up to 1.9metres in height.  Emus can sprint at 48kmh.  The male incubates the eggs which are large and green in colour, hatching after 8 weeks and the young are nurtured by their father. The emu appears on the Australian Coat of Arms.
