Journaling reads:
When I was growing up, we lived at 3 Cambridge Road and opposite us was a huge field. When I was a little older, they renumbered our house to 15 and built houses in the lovely field where we used to play.
I was maybe six when they built the new development. I remember my brother got into trouble for playing near the lime pits they used while they were building.
When everything was finished, the bungalow on the end was occupied by the man who built the houses, Mr. Gittins, and his wife. I played with their granddaughter, Karen.
I still remember the magic of the open fields and how sad I was when were gone. Now, when I go back to Formby, I see more new houses and I miss the days it was just a lovely little village.
