JOURNALING – Madison Chock and Evan Bates, the reigning U.S. National Champions in Ice Dancing, served notice on Thursday that they were planning to hold onto their title. Breaking the U.S. Championships record for the highest ever rhythm dance score, they received a standing ovation to their program featuring a medley by Queen.  Two days later, both fighting flu-like symptoms, they skated to a second place finish with their medley of Pink Floyd music. However, their lead from Thursday was enough for them to win the gold by 5.88 points overall.  They are set to defend their World Championship in Montreal in mid-March.
