The ocean was really flexing it's muscles this morning and creating quite the water show. I had to stand, or try to stand anyway, about 50 feet farther back on the pier for sunrise or take a fully clothed shower. It was hard to stand still while I tried to take pictures and it had nothing to do with what I may or may not have had the night before. First thing that crossed my mind was "Gee, this would be a great day to fly a kite." NOT! As it got light we saw two kites, with humans attached, flying across the water toward us. The Salty Dogs I was standing with figured the guys were going about 60 miles an hour heading straight toward the concrete pier. Now I was trying to stay upright, standing still wasn't an option, taking pictures of what I was sure would be a collision with the concrete pier. As I cringed, he jumped in the air, reversed direction, and headed away from us. As a punctuation to that performance, he did a 360 and landed back in the water upright. The pictures aren't great, but the spectacle sure was!
