School Holiday

(in Mexico)

(get "schooled")

“Cinco de Mayo” commemorates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 during the Franco-Mexican War. While it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, (except maybe in Puebla), in the United States, it has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican American populations.
