Journaling: In our effort to avoid too many people and dogs, we happened upon this incredible spot near the river. Secluded. Shady. Great fishing. Perfect, really. But it turned out to be too secluded for Brooklyn's comfort. She was worried about bears and other wildlife. It was at this spot that we realized we'd been pushing her too much to be outside when her idea of our vacation would be just to stay in the hotel as much as possible. After we packed up, we went back to the hotel to allow Brooklyn time to recoop, and we didn't feel guilty for not pushing her. We just found things to do inside on our last night in Stanley. And after Brooklyn had some time inside, she was willing to walk across the street to get a little snack from the store.
